Als -wij- nou inderdaad goed zitten, en de rest van de wereld gelooft toch niet... waar zou JIJ dan zitten als je lucifertje was? Kom nou zeg. Dus OF hij is zo stom als het achtereind van een varken, OF satan is heel de dag bezig met kerken infiltreren en vergiftigen. Daar hoef je niet zo buitengewoon slim of kwaadaardig voor te zijn om op dat idee te komen. Ik kon t toch ook

Er zijn voor hem alleen maar scheldwoorden: satan (=tegenstander); duivel (=chaosmaker); aanklager. Een naam hebben is belangrijk in de bijbel. In Exodus worden de vroedvrouwen, die de Joodse jongetjes van de Farao redden, bij name genoemd. De Farao zelf niet. Hij speelt geen rol in Gods plan. Zo heeft ook de duivel geen naam. Hij is niet belangrijk.

Ik sprak laatst een christen over 'Hotel California' van de Eagles.

Het schijnt dat met california niet alleen de staat in Amerika wordt aangeduid, maar dat het ook gebruikt wordt als synoniem voor de hel. De rest van de songtekst begrijp ik niet helemaal, maar ik begrijp dat in Hotel California je allerlei mooie dingen worden voorgespiegeld, een mooie dame die je ontvangt, mooie auto's, de zwoele geuren van colita's (marihuana)... maar ondertussen zit je er wel gevangen (zie de laatste regel van de songtekst). Ik vraag me daarom dus wel af of dit een lofzang moet zijn op de hel, of stiekum toch een waarschuwing...?

Californication van de Red Hot Chili Peppers schijnt ook over de hel te gaan, maar daarvoor zou ik de songtekst nog eens door moeten lezen.

Ik denk dat Californication gewoon gaat over het Amerikaanse cult-hollywood virus dat zich de vorige eeuw over de wereld verspreidt heeft.

En Hotel California zou de hel kunnen zijn, maar hoeft niet perse. Eerder gewoon een ietwat surrealistische sfeertekening van gevangen zitten in je eigen sitiuatie of verleden.

vergeet niet dat de duivel, ook wel Morgenster wordt genoemd. Deze engel was na God de Allerhoogste en heerste over de aarde. (vandaar dat hij de "overste van deze wereld" genoemd wordt) Deze morgenster had het licht niet van zich zelf. Het licht kwam van zijn Schepper. Toen deze morgenster zich verhief en als God wilde zijn zich tegenover God opstelde, werd hij door God uit de Hemel geworpen en op de aarde gesmeten. Hier door verliest hij zijn goddelijke glans, het licht. Hierdoor komt hij in de duisternis terecht (= de plaats waar God niet is) , dat is dus op de aarde...

Ik heb daar ook nooit echt een bijbels bewijs voor gezien. Het wordt wel vaak gebruikt door Rock 'n Rollhaters, die daarmee willen laten zijn dat Rockmuziek van de duivel is.

Ik weet niet wat ik me daarbij moet voorstellen, gezien het fysische karakter van muziek (geluid = trillende lucht). Is er in de hemel geluid? Is er lucht?
