God did not create Adam and Eve in a church, quite true, but He did tell them devote the 7th day more especially to Him.
Ehm..... Waar zegt God dat tegen Adam en Eva dan?! Volgens mij is de rustdag pas toen God de 10 geboden, de wet gaf. als regel ingesteld, ik lees nergens dat God Adam en Eva gebood 1 dag in de week te rusten.... ik denk dat dat in het paradijs waar geen zonde en ellende was en waar alles zeer goed was, geen rustdag nodig was
Ik lees het in ieder geval nergens in de bijbel. You accuse me of making a caricature of God. Please explain. I accuse most of the Refo-world of making a caricature of God too--many seem to deny in life that God delights in justice, though they confess it with the lip. Also, I dont think you actually understood what I was trying to say. For the sake of clarity, my one point is this: if we spend the Sunday doing things for our recreation, we are not honouring God. We must devote the entire day to Him, which is why we call it the Lord's Day. If we pursue our own pleasures, we are devoting the day to ourselves. It is not rational to argue that you are pleasing God by pleasing yourselves.
God heeft geen vreugde in het veroordelen van mensen! De bijbel zegt dat God niet wil dat er ook maar iemand verloren gaat! God verheugt zich in mensen die naar Zijn wil leven. Hij straft wie dat niet doen..... maar dat is niet omdat God het leuk vindt om te straffen. God is liefde..... Hij kan de zonde niet verdragen. God is Rechter, en veroordeelt ook mensen. Niet omdat Hij daar plezier in heeft, maar omdat Hij rechtvaardig is.
And please stop talking about honouring God vs. resting and recreation. You can read in the Bible that God also gives the sunday as a day for us to relax and to rest from the week. We should not devote the sunday to Him by worshipping the whole day... Whe should devote our entire life to Him. And devoting your life to Him doesn't mean that we are not allowed to do sports and recreation etc. We can honour Him by living our life as a child of Him in all things we do, also when we do sports or recreation.
